Dairy Waste & Grease Traps

Grease traps do exactly one thing: they hold fat until someone pays to remove it. The trap does not reduce the problem, it defers it — and the cost recurs every servicing cycle, forever.

Dairy effluent compounds this. Milk solids, butterfat, whey and washdown chemicals produce a stream that is high in fats and organic load and turns quickly.

What changes

Bioremediation digests the fats, oils and grease in place. The accumulated layer reduces rather than being pumped out, which extends servicing intervals and cuts the recurring cost that goes with them.

Downstream matters too. Fat that escapes the trap coats pipework, restricts flow and eventually blocks it. Reducing the load at the trap protects the line beyond it.

Where it applies

  • Dairies and milk processing operations
  • Cheese and yoghurt production
  • Commercial and industrial kitchens, canteens and food courts
  • Any site where a grease trap is on a fixed servicing contract

The simple test

Look at what you spend annually on grease trap servicing and pump-outs. If that number is meaningful, there is a case worth assessing. If it is not, we will tell you not to bother.

Tell us what you are dealing with

Send us your analysis, or just describe the problem. We will tell you honestly whether bioremediation is the right answer for your site — and if it is not, we will say so.
